So how does it work?

Advanced Electrolysis is a treatment that uses a Thermolysis current and a very fine needle to either cauterise or lift away the superficial epidermis, depending on the type of blemish that is being treated.

What concerns can be treated and what kind of results can be expected?

Skin Tags;
These small blemishes are cauterised and removed instantly, with small red marks or scabbing appearing after treatment. These will disappear after 7-10 days.

Mole Reduction;
A mole itself is easily treated but rather than ‘removing’ we ‘visibly reduce the appearance’ of the mole. A number of techniques are used all using Thermolysis (diathermy). The first treatment will visibly reduce the mole by up to three quarters of its size and then a follow up treatment may be necessary to smooth it so that it is flat to the skin. The colour can never be guaranteed to exactly match the surrounding skin but if the mole is much darker the remaining skin, following treatment, will almost certainly be lighter.

Please book a Blemish Consultation prior to booking an appointment.

Please note GP Approval or Map My Mole Diagnosis is required for all moles requiring treatment. Your moles should be assessed and consent in form of a letter. You should explain to your GP that you are looking to have you moles reduced with Electrolysis and that they need to be checked and confirmed to be benign prior to treatment.

Thread Veins, Spider Naevi & Campbell De Morgan Spots;
Fading begins about three weeks after treatment, with the broken capillaries beginning to disappear. Typically up to three treatments may be required, although there may be a noticeable difference after just one treatment.

Milia;
The current cauterises the blemish and the milia is removed or re absorbed back into the skin.

Filiform Warts;
Filiform warts have long, narrow projections that extend about 1 to 2mm from the skin. They can be yellow, brown, pink, or skin-toned, and don't generally form in clusters. Since they tend to form around the eyelids and lips, they're also known as facial warts. Filiform warts are caused by human papilloma virus (HPV). We gently lift these away and the skin heals within weeks.

Seb K;
Seborrheic keratoses are common growths that can become irritated or unsightly. Our ACP Practitioner Hannah offers removal services that can safely and effectively remove these lesions, restoring a more uniform skin appearance.
